Why this Kolavari Di got International fame

According to composer Anirudh Ravichander, the director Aishwarya Rajinikanth Dhanush wanted a lofty fresh song on love failure, and he had composed a suitable tune for that. Dhanush, then reportedly came up with this song in around 20 minutes. In an interview to The Times of India, Dhanush said "When I was writing down the lyrics, I kept in mind all the English words that are used in the Tamil vocabulary. Words like I, you, me, how, why, cow.. I just framed them into sentences and thats how I came up with the song."
According to Dhanush, the song's simplistic and rustic beats make it more catchy to the commoner. Heartbreak is a phenomenon almost everyone can relate to. The song was initially leaked to the internet, and the makers, having noticed its popularity, decided to go for an official release.
The lyrics of this song is rather simple and is written in the easiest form of Tanglish, a mixture of Tamil and English. The lyrics portray the feelings of an average Indian boy, who has failed in love, or who has some problems with his girl.
The music video features the actor-playback singer Dhanush singing the song in a studio, while co-star Shruti Haasan and director Aishwarya Rajinikanth(Rajnikanth's daughter) hear along in the sidelines. Composer Anirudh is at the piano.
Why This Kolaveri Di song. In India,the promotional video for the movie “3”  which shows Actor Dhanush who is the son-in-law of Superstar Rajinikanth recording the song in an informal setting, which has gone viral. On YouTube alone, one version of the song was edging towards 11 million views and 1 million “likes” in less than a week and so far. On Twitter, “Kolaveri” is the No. 1  trending India, with many tweeting random bits of the song. In Facebook this video has 7,00,000  shares. With social media effect a catchy song can do wonders. “kolaveri di” song is an good example for this. 
Even Anand Mahindra, vice chairman and managing director of the Mahindra Group, has bought into the craze. “And going viral in India is now #KolaViral,” he tweeted Tuesday morning. If corporate honchos, too, are tweeting about “Kolaveri,” you know it’s definitely gone mainstream.
And Bollywood stars are lovin’ it too!
Neha Dhupia tweeted: ‘And the #kolaveridi storm is still on!’
Amitabh Bachchan tweeted: ‘Just heard #Kolaveri after much talk on it … its so original and catchy ..congratsDhanush and Aishwarya(Rajni’s daughter) .. love.’
Abhijeet Sawant loves the song too. ‘I love the tamil song.. Kolaver .. Super song,’ he updated.
Ranvir Shorey and wife Konkona Sensharma loved the song too. ‘Yes, I did get some relief with #Kolavari. But not really long lasting,’ Ranvir wrote.
